Hello all! This is the first post of this blog! Yay! So, the purpose of this blog is to let stories be shared of Chinese adoptees! The owners of this blog are Lexie, Harvest, and myself. Hopefully it will be successful, inspiration, and fulfill one of its purposes: let you know you're not alone! I am hoping for at least one post a week!

Last year I conducted a pilot study investigating the ethnic and cultural identity development of late adolescent females adopted from China. The results of that study were compelling and I have been granted IRB approval to conduct a full study to include participants age 14 and over.
ReplyDeleteThis study includes a short 20-30 minute survey (link below) and an opportunity to participate in one or more follow-up interviews and the possibility of being included as a case study. It is my hope that this study will help give a voice to this unique population and help inform the understanding of their needs.
The results of this study will be used to further the goals of the participant community as they are truly the only ones who know where the work needs to be done. It may be used to help develop parent educational programs for adoption agencies, independent workshops, seminars and text for adoptive parents and their children and to educate and inform the population at large, etc...
